Chris is a young professional composer and typesetter of art/concert music. He completed his Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, receiving several awards including the Alan Lane and A.G. Francis prizes for his compositions, as well as several academic awards. He has since completed an Honours Year at the University of Queensland, where he received First Class Honours and the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. Chris’s career holds great promise, with his music already having been performed around Australia.
He has been commissioned by private supporters, as well as the Queensland Philharmonia Orchestra, the Australian Piano Duo Festival, and the Brisbane City Council for its 'Street Reads' project. Chris has also worked as an arranger, most recently arranging the percussion from Stravinsky's Rite of Spring for the Viney-Grinberg Piano Duo. He has also composed for advertisements, including Griffith University's "Top Ten" promotional video.
Chris's typesetting has developed and refined since he first began typesetting his own music nearly 10 years ago. As an active composer, his extensive knowledge of Western instrumentation and notation allows for both precision and understanding of how what is written on the page can be interpreted by a performer.
